Another forty minutes, twenty minutes at the slower pace with longer strides and twenty minutes at a faster pace to burn calories, on the StairMaster.

I stuck with my typical weekend workouts and did twenty minutes not too long after waking up.
Exercising before you eat is supposed to make you burn stored fat and be equivalent to working out for twice as long. Of course, not having eaten, it’s too hard to work out for an extended amount of time, but I can do twenty minutes if I keep it pretty easy with longer strides. Quite a butt workout too.

This is late considering sign-ups end tomorrow, but if you want some good music to workout to, go join Alison’s First Ever Supa-Cool Fitness/Diet Blogger Workout CD Swap.
Basically, you make four copies of a mix CD, keep one for yourself, and send out the others to other bloggers. Sounds like a great way to get some good music to me!

I came home and got on the StairMaster and did another forty minutes, twenty minutes at the slower pace with longer strides and twenty minutes at a faster pace to burn calories. I could feel both a soreness in my stomach muscles and was quite sweaty. I hope that I start seeing some payoff from these sessions soon.

Christine called today and reminded me that it’s been like ten days since I’ve updated over here. Bad me!
I have been exercising, but for whatever reason, I just been coming over here and updating, so here’s a quick run down of the last week and a half.
Last week I worked out probably four days on the StairMaster and one day in the gym. Did okay at best on eating better.
This week I StairMastered Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday for thirty-five to forty minutes. I’m doing a different approach where the first twenty minutes is spent doing it slower, but with long steps. It should help tone my leg and butt muscles. The last fifteen or twenty minutes are to burn calories.
I’ve been eating snacks twice a day for the last few days and having a lighter dinner. I’ve also given up cokes at night (believe me, this is the hardest thing for me) and gone to drinking Crystal Light (grapefruit flavor). I’m not limiting my cokes too much during the day, but I hope to get it down to two soon.
Okay, that’s the catch-up post. I hope to start posting more regularly in here again now.

We were supposed to go to dance class tonight, but I haven’t been feeling very motivated to go, so Steven and I cancelled. To make up for it I did forry minutes on the StairMaster with ten minutes at level four and ten minutes at level five. Go, me!

Thanks to having a TiVo near the StairMaster I have a nifty little equation for you:
40 minutes on the StairMaster = 1 hour of television minus commercials
Nice to see that I save a third of my time by using TiVo.

Seems like I’m always doing a catch up post for Thursday through Sunday. :-)
Thursday
Even though I was really tired and I didn’t want to exercise, I made myself do forty minutes on the StairMaster. The best thing: I did the first thirty minutes at level four and the last ten at level five. That’s harder than I’ve StairMastered in quite some time and I could really tell when I got off. This is going to be the new times/levels until I can do even more.
Saturday
Did twenty minutes at level three before I ate, effectively doubling my time on there.
Sunday
Same as yesterday.

I did another forty minutes on the StairMaster when I got home today despite the fact that Steven actually had my tennis shoes (I wore my sandals and they worked just fine, thankfully). Same drill as yesterday with the first ten minutes done at level three and the rest done at level four.
I think in the upcoming week I’m going to push it to level five and see if I survive.

After the period from Hell which prevented me from working out and caused me to eat really bad, I hit the StairMaster yesterday with a vengence. I did forty minutes, the first ten at level three and the rest at level four.
I’m pretty disgusted with how I look right now, so I’m going to use that to fuel my desire to workout.

I’ve been trying to do the five small meals a day thing, which results in me bringing a baggie with an orange in it (which Steven so thoughtfully peels for me every night) and another baggie with some lunch meat in it.
Steven remarked this morning that I needed a lunchbox, so I immediately hit eBay and found this - an Army of Darkness metal lunchbox (which even comes with a shot glass). I am now set to bring my snacks in style to the office. Groovy!
